C is for Candy #AtoZChallenge 2023

#AtoZChallenge 2023 letter C

Resilient candy.

My area of the world is near the Just Born candy factory in Bethlehem, PA. Local stores are flooded with Peeps. What can these marshmallow candies endure?

"Peeperiments" (Peep experiments) include various acids, water, and microwaving. (💥 I don't suggest trying the microwaving test. It's fun to watch, but not to clean.) Could Peeps "survive nuclear fallout"? Probably not. If they are kept in an airtight container they will last for up to two years.

On a personal note, as evidence of my own resilience, the second book in my Existence series was released TODAY!
Proof of Existence is on Amazon- amzn.to/3ZZ1WM6. There's a giveaway for a blanket or character name on my blog.

  4. I don’t know about resilient candy. Chocolate melts, so that is not a contender! Congratulations on the book, J.

  7. Howdy,
Congratulations on your new book! I think the most resilient candy would have to be rock candy or maybe salt taffy. Any hoot have a great day.
Check out the devotional here and the recipe which is along for the ride too.

  8. How curious! I suppose its very novelty could make it a commercial success.

  9. I made rice krispie treats using Peeps for an AtoZ post a few years ago, and I will save you from the carnage by telling you the eyeballs DON'T MELT. You end up with a bowl full of marshmallow goo with eyeballs floating in it....

  14. No, I won't be celebrating Peep day. I can't remember the last time I had one, but I do remember the sticky, sugary coating on my fingers. LOL! For resilient candy, my vote goes to Laffy Taffy.

  17. I used to love Peeps, but now they are just too sweet for me. But that doesn't stop me from trying all the different flavors they come out with. I tried Dr. Pepper this year. Last year there was a Red Hot flavor. Congratulations on the new book.
