If this is your first A to Z Challenge, what made you decide to do it?

If this is not your first Challenge (especially if you've been away for a year or more), what brought you back again this year?

In short, what do you want out of the challenge? Some possible things you get from doing this annual exercise:

  • You want more traffic for your blog.
  • You have a great theme that you want to share with everyone.
  • You're looking for new "blog buddies."
  • You're interested in seeing what everyone else comes up with.
  • Force of habit?

What you want is your desire. Kind of a strong word for it, I admit, but that's what it is. It's what makes you come back every year. For me, this is the highlight of my blogging year. I want to see what everyone else does. I have a theme that I think will be entertaining. More traffic would be nice, of course, even though this is pretty much just something to do.

Whatever your desire for this year's Challenge, I hope you find it.

I have been doing the challenge every year since 2013. It is the highlight of my blogging year. Good to see people whose blogs I have enjoyed in previous years. 'Old friends'. I am struggling to keep up with those, without adding new ones, although there are some new-to-me blogs I can't resist reading. All your wish list or desire is valid, John.

This is my favorite time of year. I DESIRE to do more blogging but I never take the time. I am so thankful to have this challenge to encourage my blogging efforts. I used to want it to be about getting all kinds of likes and followers. Now it's more that I get to share and write about things I know or have learned/experienced. I wish I had more time to visit everyone...maybe when I get to retire (in six short years- at least that is what Tall Cool ☺ne keeps telling me).

Anyhoot, it's so nice to see blogging buddies that have been in my life over the past 15 years of doing this consistently. Don't get Dragooned ... just keep at it one letter at a time....type... type...type
Cheers,
Barbie

While I do desire to have more of a readership for my blog and am glad that there are a few more eyes on it during the challenge, it is not what drives me to come back year after year. I like the concept of the challenge (posting each day but tweaking your content to match that day's letter). I like sabbath component of the challenge, where we get a rest once a week to recharge our blogging batteries. I like the variety of other blogs that I can look at in a one stop shop environment. I think this last component is why I'll keep coming back year after year even if I take a hiatus from the content creation element of the event.

Initially I thought this was a tough challenge. But I decided on a theme, and I took travel since it is easy. But as I read other bloggers too, I feel this is a great challenge to keep the creativity going. I am happy I DECIDED to take upon this challenge. Here is mine for D. http://specialmomsblog.mom/2024/04/04/detroit-in-north-to-dallas-in-south/

It allows me to read blogs outside of my normal circles and gives me new ideas. It also helps get my blog out to new people.

I also love the challenge of themes and posting every day.

I don’t get why the link can’t be fixed on the post. It would make things easier and wouldn’t be turning bloggers away. I mean come on, it’s an easy fix!

I did this once, a long time ago, and enjoyed the creativity involved, but lacked the time to do it again. i blog when i have time, stop when i don't, so its hard for me to generate traffic or gain blog buddies...so I'm hoping by posting alphabetical book reviews I'll gain some of each. Hi Ronel - I was on a blog coma for years. And now I have dived headlong into this challenge. Let's see how far I swim.
