P is for Purpose
Our team theme this month is “Aspirations: Blogging hopes, dreams, and goals”.I read a book a few years back, called Start with Why by Simon Sinek (and no, he's not sponsoring this blog post!). It really digs into the purpose of what we're doing as we lead others. I think it's really valuable for us, as bloggers to identify our purpose. Is it to inform others? Is it to entertain? Is to express ourselves and invite others on the journey? Is it something else entirely?
Understanding our purpose as a blogger can help guide our choices and help us on our path.

ReplyDeleteTo be honest when I started blogging it was to share with family and friends a journal of sorts, then it evolved and became therapy for myself more than anyone else. But I'm happy if it helps others. I guess it's all in Perspective or is it Prestidigitation

DeleteMy purpose in blogging is to be frank twofold. One is to get my thoughts on paper - electronically of course. I think deeply about my gaming but also intermittently on politics over on https://open.substack.com/pub/theuncomfortablecentre. My gaming thoughts are over on Circleone.blog as well as https://open.substack.com/pub/neillwhyborne. The purpose of the politics posts - well maybe I can help someone rethink their approach to a subject. As for gaming in addition to helping fellow gamers I also hope to attract people to my product line on DTRPG where some of my thoughts take shape as practical tools.
ReplyDeleteMy purpose is to share my lunatic ramblings instead of being locked up. Also, blogging keeps my mind sharp (I hope) which (hopefully) helps me to write my book.
