Q is for Quality

#AtoZChallenge 2026 letter Q
MASTER LIST https://tinyurl.com/mu5vjy48

Our team theme this month is “Aspirations: Blogging hopes, dreams, and goals”.

When I started blogging over a decade ago, I had no idea what I was doing. I simply wrote whatever came to mind and uploaded it to my blog. There was no quality control, merely quantity.

These days, I put a lot more thought and effort into my blog posts. My goal for my blog is to have evergreen content that people can read and enjoy years after the posts have been published. I have a specific control list to make sure that each post is of the quality I strive to serve on my blog.

Because I strive for quality, not quantity, it takes a lot more time to write a blog post. But these posts have parts that can be extracted and repurposed. For example, I use parts of my folklore posts for my podcast. This feeds into my goal to have my blog’s content as accessible as possible.

What are your goals with your blog? What is the level of quality you reach for with your posts?

    1. Makes sense to me. A brief pause would do us all good.

  4. I still write about whatever crosses my mind. But I check the grammar and spelling very carefully. There's nothing screaming "Low quality" like incomplete sentences or crazy typos.

And speaking of quality. Could you pretty please mark the non-participants in the A-Z in some way on the list? Maybe just mark that line in the list red or something? It's a waste of time in an already busy month visiting blogs only to find no A-Z content at all.

So far I've found these blogs not participating at all - I might of course be mistaken, in that case I apologize. The number in the middle is their number in the master list:
    - The Story Factory, 73, no posts since March 1st
    - A More Positive Perspective, 81, Blogging but not a word on A-Z
    - Belles-Lettres, 128, no posts since March 11
    - The Madlab, 136, no posts since December 2023
    - Writing all Along, 138, no posts since October 2025
    - Visits With Mary, 139, Blogging, but not a word on A-Z
    - Sand Castles and Snow Forts, 140, only A
    - The English Explorer, 143, no posts since April 2024
    - Personal Growth & Wellness, 144, Only theme reveal
