Reflecions 2026 #AtoZChallenge

REFLECTIONS

We look back at our achievements, the blogging challenge we faced, and every comment made and left for us.  We can return to the blogging aspirations that may have gotten away from us—or create entirely new ones! Hopefully, the challenge has given you motivation to keep blogging and to support others in our blogging community.

Our team theme this year was: A is for Aspirations: Blogging hopes, dreams, and goals

Do you feel like our team's posts from this month met your expectations for that theme?

While you reflect on your blog's April Challenge posts, please consider this:
  • How do you feel about the Theme Reveal? (Especially if this is not your first year doing the Challenge.)
  • In what ways does the reflection post help you?
  • What experiences have you had in the past, or hope to have this year, with the Road Trip?
  • Does the HTML on the badges/ graphics page help you?
  • Did you meet your blogging goals in April?
  • What were your top five favorite blogs from the challenge to visit in April this year?
  • Did a co-host (J Lenni Dorner, Arlee Bird, Zalka Csenge Virág, John Holton, Jayden R Vincente, or Ronel Janse van Vuuren) comment on your blog during the challenge?
  • Is there a comment you received on your blog in April that is your favorite?
  • Who were your top comment-leavers this challenge, and did they do the challenge?
    • Is your blog open to comments from everyone, or only comments from those who "sign in" to the platform?
      • Do you feel this helps or hurts your blogging comment goals?
  • Are there any other blog hops you regularly take part in?
  • Did you discover anything interesting because of the Challenge?
  • Will you plan to do the Blogging from A to Z April Challenge in 2027, and why (or why not)?
    • Will you recommend this blog hop to others?
  • If RoadTrippers only visit one of your Challenge posts, which would you suggest and why? (This question is also the prompt if you create a RoadTrip post.)
  • Do you plan to visit the A to Z site every month?

  1. Already did my Reflections post (didn't see any requirement for one until tonight). So, I wrote one anyway. Hope that's cool.

    1. No requirements. I offer prompts because some people don't know what to write.

  4. What is RoadTrippers? Inquiring minds want to know...or is it just those of us who did the Challenge for the first time?

    2. Once upon a time, the challenge had THOUSANDS of blogs. And no one (except Tina, RIP) could manage to comment on all of them in one month. So, many bloggers made it an online "roadtrip" of visiting blogs throughout the year to get to everyone at some point. (Maybe 100 blogs a month or something.)
Granted, as there aren't nearly as many bloggers now, it's easier to hop to everyone in one month. But still, some people do like to space it out. The Roadtrip is a commitment to visit the blogs at some point between now and March of next year. But, not all blogs opt for this. Some people, for example, don't allow comments on posts older than 30 days. (It can cut down on spambots.) Also, if someone were to visit in not-April, what post from April might a blogger want them to see? Sort of "what do you feel was your best April post"?

Hopefully, that answers the question. If not, co-host John Holton will be posting on May 11. He's equally, if not more, qualified to answer Roadtrip questions.

  7. I enjoyed the challenge as usual and would probably do it again next year but it's not a certainty. It just seems like people aren't having as much fun but that could be me.

    Have a lovely day.

    1. I'm sorry if your comment leavers seemed to be having less fun. I'm happy to entertain any ideas to add fun to the event.
There have been scavenger hunts and blog bingos. Would that help?
How many blogs did you visit?

    2. I had fun with the challenge and am pleased to make both of your acquaintances.

  8. One more thing. I seem to have had extremely bad luck commenting this year. Not because of having to sign up, or Capchas. But I cannot begin to count the number of times where my browser just folded, the comment just disappeared instead of posting ... all those things. I think the gremlins have had it for this challenge.

  9. Here's my reflections post, which I prepared in advance of the atozchallenge one being published. I covered most of your suggestions, J. https://suestrifles.wordpress.com/2026/05/04/a-to-z-2026-reflections-atozchallenge/

  10. As always this was the best time of the year for me... hopefully I can continue throughout the year. Here's my Reflections post.
    Cheers,
    Barbie
