M is for Making Memories

This Letter "M" post is brought to you by Jenny Pearson, co-host for the A to Z Challenge.

How are you doing out there? Enjoying your Alphabet Adventures?
Meeting new bloggers, reading interesting posts, enjoying wonderful pictures, learning a little history along the way - these are just a few of the memory making moments mesmerizing me as I make my way through many magnificent blogs.
How about you - are you making memories along the way?
Today, one of the memories I am making is celebrating a milestone...
I have been a mother for a quarter of a century - my, my, where has the time gone.

Making Magical Memories since 1992
As you are reading this I am taking a stroll down Mainstreet, USA with Courtney - today she is twenty-five!

Her birthday wish is to spend time in the place which has inspired her career and fuels her passion - making more magical memories in the process.

Do you know where we are? Have you been here too?
I will be sharing a photo montage of the memories we are making in the merry month of May!

What is your most memorable memory you have ever made?
 Jenny

Time does fly I agree, I have had a great life and have visited many places, but my most cherished memory was getting married and having my three children followed by the grandchildren.

Enjoy your time with your daughter and hopes she has a Happy Birthday.

there is no way at the age of 60 that i am going to be able to tell you my best memory.
HOWEVER, I started a blog and my husband and I are writing a story about how we met (recounting memories, a true story) and it's kind of a he says she says kind of thing.
It probably will interest no one outside our immediate family, but we are doing it for ourselves.

Happy Birthday to Courtney and Congrats to you, Jenny, for being a mother for a quarter century!

I have no idea where you guys are. Enjoy that special place though :)

It's difficult to zero in on just one most memorable memory that tops 'em all, so I'll share with you one of my most memorable memories which is attending my first-ever film festival where I won my first-ever film award and also where a screenwriter and film director said to me "You're glowing?! Do you know that?"....oh, how I wish I had the same feeling again.

I'm sure you and your daughter are having a wonderful time together! Say hi to Mickey for me ;-)
I have a lot of treasured memories from playing with my kids. A favorite is when YellowBoy (now 12 but them 5 or so) and I played in the snow, after dinner, in the dark. We were Mama Bear and Baby Bear and crawled on our hands and knees, growling, and wrestling. Such fun.
I love Legos! Greatest toy EVER invented. My two boys are still major Lego fans, though video games threaten to take over from time to time.
Letting our kids go is the hardest, but hopefully, if we've done a decent job of parenting, then they won't need to suffer through all of their lessons the hard way.

Creating happy memories for your children is so important but harder now when couples divorce. Simple things are what kids remember. My son Bret, was at Disneyland when he was ten, and while watching the night parade he said, "This is the happiest day of my life." And I thought to my self, and I was there.

Hi, Jenny...Happy birthday anniversary to Courtney, too. I think the most memorable day of my life was when I accepted Jesus as my Savior. It changed my life forever and sealed my destiny. Beside that, there are too many to mention. I have had such a wonderful, busy, full, happy life, with some tragedies along the way, it would be difficult to pin down any one of them. Thank you for the really marvelous job you are doing with the Challenge! Best regards to you. Ruby

What a beautiful tribute to your daughter, Jenny...and your relationship with her. She is quite talented! I have to say my memories (and hopefully my children's) are the fabulous overseas tours we have taken as a home educating family. I posted some of the photos on my 'K' post here: http://4ambassadorsofchrist.blogspot.com/2012/04/keep-kodak-moments-coming.html

Magnificent manipulation of M's.

I've been to Main Street U.S.A. in Disneyworld and Disneyland. I live about 15 minutes away from Disneyland, but I haven't been to the Magic Kingdom part of the park in about 20 years.

Have fun!

They always warned us, "They grow so fast!" and the first few weeks with a newborn, when you've had maybe two hours of sleep, cumulatively, you're going yeah, right.

Then suddenly your baby's in kindergartner, playing Little League, and points beyond. It really DOES go fast. Congrats on your baby's 25th birthday!

Happy birthday to your no-longer-a-baby-but-will-always-be-your-baby! :-)

Two memories that hit me off the top of my head are:

1. After failing to land any lead roles in my high school's musicals, going to the "Joseph & the Amazing Techinicolor Dreamcoat" cast posting at college and seeing I'd won the part of the Narrator (the only female lead role in the musical).

2. Over the course of the past month, my son (a high school senior) calling me at work every time he learned he got accepted into a school! (This happened about six times. The three "No" replies waited till I got home.) :-D

Ah Jenny,
Awesome to note you are keeping up with the thrilling challenge that brings further awareness of the alphabet and hopefully provides positive interaction amongst those of you involved.
I'm making memories along the way. Oh yes, my lasting memory will be, that despite my being the alleged "Official anti-A to Z Challenge spokesman", the hosts of it all have pleaded with me to formulate my own satirical, sometimes serious musings about the challenge.
It looks like you are in Leek, Staffordshire, England, one of the places that inspired Tolkien to write "Lord of the Rings" and judging by the locals, I can understand that!
Seriously Jenny and all you amazing folks doing all this alphabetical stuff, have fun, embrace the all different, all equal diversity of the great blogging community and keep smiling :)
With respect and good wishes, Gary

gosh, I'd never thought of it like that, it'll be next year for me. I wonder where my daughter would choose? Mostly, I wonder where she'll be. At the moment she's dreaming os studying overseas - my most helpful (?) suggestion was to apply for somewhere I'd like to visit her!

Being a few years older than you (and admitting my oldest child will be 49 this year), I can safely say I've made over a ton of great memories in my lifetime. I wouldn't even know where to start with picking the best.

What a great post! The Challenge has been so much fun so far. I've only been to Disney once, and I was too sick to really enjoy it. The sun got me the first day. My son's 2nd birthday is this Friday. I hope to make it the new most memorable day!

Hi Jenny, nice to read your post, I've been doing a "Frankie Laine" and "Making Memories" for 44 years with My son (RJR) and I still am as I help him out a couple of days a week in his Job, so the pleasant memories are still piling up!
Frankie Laine's EP "Love is a golden ring" will be just up your street, that's where his "Making Memories" is from.
