BLOG BLOCK!

No. This not a blog block:
This is a building block.
But if the above chunk of rock fell on your toe, you would probably yell, “Oh, damn!”

Not this kind of dam. Do not be confused.

Blog block is a painful malady. Fingers are raised to the keyboard…the pressure is on to produce funny repartee and…..zip. YA GOT NUTHIN'! It’s a horrible feeling.
What’s a blocked blogger to do? There are several options.
ACCUSE YOUR MUSE OF GOING A.W.O.L.

BLAME YOUR LACK OF WEB PRESENCE ON WRITER’S CRAMP
AND WEAR BRACES ON BOTH WRISTS AS PROOF.

PLACE A DISCLAIMER ON YOUR BLOG THAT YOU ARE WAITING
FOR THE LAST BLOOD MOON OF THE LUNAR TETRAD WHICH IS SEPTEMBER 27, 2015.
THIS BUYS YOU QUITE A BIT OF TIME TO CONTEMPLATE BLOG TOPICS.
OR...
YOU COULD RELY ON THE INTERNET GODS TO GIVE YOU A FEW IDEAS!

It’s simple. Turn off your inner editor and procrastinate productively (Whaa?). Scour the net for unique images that speak to you. Pinterest is a great place to start. Photographer websites are good, too. Check out http://emiliopasquale.wordpress.com/    (Remember to not nab the photos. Need I say more?)
Need a quote to get ya going?  Try Brainy Quote or GoodReads’ popular quotes.

There is so much out THERE…in that unseen, untouchable ether which we lovingly call the ‘net’.
What? How do I know so much about blog block? Uh…well…you see…OMG! Where are my wrist braces? I think I left them outside at the last blood moon. Oh, I’m not scared. My muse will find them!

Today's colorful post was brought to you by the inimitable Helen Jameson!

No blog block for me. So many topics, so little time...

I always use my own drawing or photos, it avoids the risk of someone getting upset about copyright.

Great post. For blocking, I keep a list of post ideas on my computer to help me out. I also found a few websites of public-domain or otherwise-free use images because I'm not that good an artist. One of the best is called Pixabay.

OMG I love the way you presented this and can relate to having blogger's block. It's a heavy weight to carry indeed. Photos and quotes have helped me out of that dam many times. That's what makes Wordless Wednesday one of the most useful blog memes ever. Speaking of memes, I'd also like to add that participation in memes can also get one out of the blog block because memes provide a subject matter or prompt, which helps to get out of that non-writing rut. The Monday Movie Meme welcomes participants every week (or sometimes bi-weekly), of course ;)

HI AJ ..Thankfully it's not something I have .. though I don't post that often .. and vary what I'll write about ... I just enjoy posting interesting content with different snippets of life included .. often historical notes ... cheers Hilary

I love that even though you can have blog block, there's still a story there if you just think about it.

Sorry if there is duplication ... great post thank you Helen. If an image appeals, then write about it .. great idea!

I really do need to learn how to procrastinate more productively.
