Are we having FUN yet? #atozchallenge

Your first full week of A to Z is concluding!

Are you having FUN?

This challenge, first and foremost, is supposed to be an enjoyable experience. While it is designed to challenge you, your focus, writing skills, and your blogging resolve, all of that is moot if you are not having at least some amount of fun with it.

A to Z fun can take many forms. Here is how you can achieve them:

1. Getting appreciative comments on your blog
Sure, "Good post!" is also a sign of appreciation, but everybody loves to get more detailed, personal comments. People reciprocate: The better comments you leave, the more likely they will visit you back and show their appreciation for your work. Everyone likes being complimented.

2. Finding new blog treasures
Visit at least a small amount of new blogs every day. Work your way down the list (even if it's at the pace of a snail). You will find treasures - people, blogs, and themes you love. Make sure to bookmark of Follow them, so you can come back later for more.

3. Making new blog friendships
Blog friendships can last beyond A to Z, and they are the best outcome of the challenge. Nurture them, build them. Connect with your new blog friends through other media - follow them on Twitter, friend them on Facebook, whatever. Enjoy getting to know all the wonderful people out there who share your interests.

4. Participating in the community
Join us for the #azchat Twitter chats! Talk to others about the challenge. Make yourself at home in the A to Z community.

My theme for this year's AtoZChallenge is The Fun in Writing. I had fun writing the posts about having fun writing. Now I am enjoying visiting so many new sites. I like all your suggestions for having fun with AtoZ, especially the idea of continuing the relationships after April.

I'm having a blast. My theme is a 1970s Time Capsule. I found another blogger doing the 1980s so we have both been plugging each others blog on our posts and I've been tweeting that we have dueling decades in the #AtoZChallenge. @ma_holloway from

It seems whenever I participate in challenges like this life likes throw a wrench in things. I had an accident Tuesday night (I'm okay, but still frustrating) and so wasn't able to get to many blogs and last night last night I was too exhausted. Thankfully my great team at Girl Who Reads had content reading and waiting for me. I do love visiting meeting new-to-me bloggers during these events so hopefully I get to visit a few more this weekend.

Yes, yes we are! I am in danger of falling behind but looking forward to the Sunday break to do a bit of catching up. I love seeing what others are doing with the Challenge and I am already getting some ideas for next year!

I love visiting new blogs but April is growing hectic and blogging is starting to be work. I would still say fun...get back to me on that in a week though. :-)

Thanks for the advice - I know last year I made several lasting blog friendships out of A to Z. For that reason alone, it was worth it to do it again this year!

I am having fun, but talk about bad timing for a story idea yesterday. I decided to rewrite a character arc recently and was determined to finish it yesterday. I didn't get around to anyone's blog because I was writing ALL day. Now I'm playing catch up.

This has been fun! There are so many blogs, so it's great to find ones to go back to while still having plenty of new blogs to check out.

I created a small Twitter list for A to Z and it definitely helps me keep up with the ones I've added.

I am having fun! I am learning about board games (helps with my 12 yo), I am loving the informative blogs where I learn something. Business blogs have been helpful. I wish I had more interaction on my posts, but hey, I am doing this for me. I love your blog. Great post today, it is a good reminder and a great perspective to keep...thank you. I seem to be having bad luck with many of the blogs I visit this year! A lot of the interesting blogs I've clicked on not only never started the Challenge, but haven't had any posts in a very long time. A few blogs haven't seen any action in several years. Hopefully I'll hit more of a stride soon, and find only blogs actively participating.

It is fun and a great opportunity to use the Alphabet to use words on self-reflection and healing. https://tracesofthesoul.wordpress.com/2016/04/07/f-is-for-forgiveness/

I'm trying my best with the concept I'm running with . . . sketches I've gotten from artists at comic book shows and events. I haven't had many views so far, and BlogSpot gives me grief with formatting, but it's been a healthy exercise. Also, I'd like to know if there are similar blogs taking on the Challenge. I don't know if I can sift through almost 2,000 URLs.

Thank you for wonderful tips today. I think, making friendship while writing and reading is the best gift from AtoZ Challenge

I've come across some very interesting blogs. I found one yesterday that explores different aspects of African culture. Fascinating stuff.

I'm really enjoying this challenge so far, even if I slip behind a little. It's been great to find some lovely new blogs to read and friendly like minded writers. Thank you to the organisers who make it all possible <3

I am having so much fun, but I almost think I should have taken the month off work to read everyone's posts! Trying to be included in as many as I can and hope others are having fun reading mine. Thanks to those of you who are organizing this fun project!
