Can I Do It? #atozchallenge

Can I Do It?

Yes you can!

You are capable, creative, and crafty.

You can conquer the A to Z Challenge.

You are in control.

Struggling to keep up with posting? Take an extra hour this week to get ahead.

Struggling with commenting? Again, set aside an extra hour to catch up.

Wondering if it will all be worth it? Yes, it will!

My very first Challenge in 2010, I signed up last minute. I had no idea what to post and scrambled every day to find something to fit the letter. By the end of that very first Challenge, I managed to post every day, my following had tripled, and I made some really good blogging buddies. It set me up for that fall when my first book came out, CassaStar.

So, whatever you are trying to accomplish with the Challenge, know this – you can do it. You can beat the Challenge!

Co-host Ninja Captain Alex J. Cavanaugh is the author of Amazon Best-Sellers CassaStar, CassaFire, CassaStorm, and Dragon of the Stars, and his blog can be found HERE

Thankyou for the encouragement. I asked myself a 100 times before I signed up. I was petrified. I still am. :) But am feeling the thrill too.. I'm actually bookmarking blogs to catch up on once this month is over.

Agreed, Alex. If I can do it (twice so far, 2014 and 2015) anyone can. The difficult part is keeping up with all the other excellent posts that are out there.

This is my fifth year doing the A to Z Challenge. In January, I plot my theme and posts. In February, I research. In March, I write and schedule the posts. And in April, I sit back and visit as many bloggers as I can!

Jo said...

I'm nearly there, I have 6 posts left to do. I always enjoy meeting new people during the Challenge. Thanks for the encouragement Alex.

My team at Girl Who Reads has been great about this challenge. Most of them have already sent in their posts so I just need to format them.

Michelle Wallace said...

Yes, we can!
This is my sixth challenge.
My posts are all ready to go.
I've learned that scheduling is the best way to approach the challenge. Last year, I didn't get my posts done well in advance, and so I scrambled...
Thanks for the boost, Alex!

Great encouraging words! It is such a sense of accomplishment when we get through the alphabet. I think too with each subsequent challenge we learn a bit more on how to manage our time, etc.

I take almost an extra two hours each day.
Also, I learned from last year and have prepped all my blog posts. So I'm not scrambling to get something written. Also, I find the theme works wonders.

Karen Baldwin said...

Thanks for your comment Alex. It helps to have a theme and prepare ahead.

Due my left hand issues, I ducked out this year. Instead I'm a faithful minion, and enjoying reading what others are posting.

I have made a list of letters of the alphabet and am writing down words I can use for posts relating to my zombie-apocalypse theme. That made it easy to do today's post on (killing) Characters.

Everyone likes a challenge, so this is perfect. It's a way to show yourself that you can do what you think isn't possible...kind of like write and publish a book.

I am exploring virtues through the alphabet. Need to step up my reading though. Will work on that today!

I signed up last minute also, with only hours left before it closed. Sunday, the "day off", was creating posts for A and B. However, I'm happy to be up to date now, and am off to visit other blogs and bloggers who are also doing the challenge.

I was worried I wouldn't have my posts for my secondary blog finished in time, since I waited till March to begin them this year. I finished them at the end of March, and am just going through and spot-checking for any typos or things I could tweak a little.

So true! We can do it. I'm always struggling with getting back to people who comment on my blog but I have found everyone to be so okay with it. They give me room to breathe so I know it is alright to get back when I can.

I signed up last minute this year...6pm on the 31st! I wrote a blog post that night for my "A" and the next day wrote my "B". This weekend I wrote C-H. I find if I work like a dog on the weekends, then it allows me time to hop around and comment back during the week. I'm also keeping my posts short and sweet, which helps a lot!

This has been very fun for me as I combined it with my own challenge of 7,6,5,4,3,2,1 where for 7 days you get 7 words, 6 days 6 words, etc.... they just so happen to coincide with AtoZ

Yes I can do it. I've done it before. Sometimes it is late before I get everything done, but I'm working on writing ahead of time and scheduling. It really depends on the complexity of the post. This one, for C, in my theme of Legacy Tools, took a while to edit, double check, find the right images, and the like. http://womenslegacyproject.com/conserve-curate/

Nancy Hill said...

I wish I could do this! Last month I was editing and publishing other women's stories of influential women in their lives. Memoir, blogs, business site, ebooks - the writing life is hard.
