Discipline in Blogging for #AtoZChallenge!

For the alphabet D, Samantha Redstreake Geary from D's Company (I was tempted to make this D for Damyanti, but asked Samantha instead, who I clearly see is no better at Discipline than me!) offers her tongue-in-cheek take.
 ------

discipline-i-know-its-in-there-somewhere.jpgToday, I’m dishing out a big helping of “D” with a side of irony, considering I rarely choose Discipline at the all-you-can-do buffet. Let’s be honest. Discipline is the kale on the salad bar of life. You know it’s good for you, but you’ve only so much room and so little time, and that treasure trove of desserts is whispering sweet nothings like there’s no tomorrow. And then, when tomorrow rears its ugly head at the crack of dawn, you’ll look back on those empty calorie hours with a pounding regret hangover and think to yourself, I should’ve had the kale.la-ss-decadent-desserts-20131113-dto.jpg

Rinse and repeat.meet-kale.jpg

What IF, one day, while grazing in the pasture of possibility, you decided to give the questionable green leaves a shot. This time, you ignore the sugar-laden distractions, seize the salad tongs, and load up on vitamin-infused productivity. When tomorrow comes, self-reproach is replaced with satisfaction. And before too long, you’ll feel so fulfilled you won’t give that syrupy stack of procrastination a second glance because kale is where it’s at.

Recap
Kale = Discipline

Eat your kale EVERY DAY, and you’ll be well on your way to achieving your aspirations and one step closer to becoming an organic, shade grown, fair trade, bird sanctuary badass!

-----
Which is to say, now that you're in the A to Z Challenge, stick with your blogging discipline, even though on some days it feels like chewing on steamed Kale!

On a more serious note, D is for Determination, Drive and Daring. You'll need all of it while you dish out posts on the remaining 22 days of April!

Discipline at the 'all you can do buffet'...unlikely. I'm sure I still have 30 tabs open for yesterday's post. Lucky for me I love kale, silverbeet anything green really. Does that make me a greenie? Thanks D... I will try and be more determined to discipline myself and get D out on time.

Thank you so much. I really needed to read this post today. It's all about preserving and eating that kale even when it tastes bad. After swallowing, the taste improves and you feel good.
Great post.

I am rather confused as to where to connect up with this challenge ... I do put up the badge and hope someone finds me ... in the meantime ... this is my entry for "d" - https://bastetandsekhmet.wordpress.com/2016/04/05/a-to-z-challenge-the-letter-d-april-5-2016 - Bastet

While it is only the 5th day of the challenge, I've already learned so much about discipline in writing... and using empty hours wisely. For example, rather than just watching television at night, I visit blogs, make comments, research future posts. I feel more productive and the next morning - I'm glad I had the kale :) Great challenge - and wonderful post!

Great post! And kale isn't really all that bad! :)

Learned something new today. If you start your post with D it can't be sent to Twitter. (It sees it as a direct message and since I don't follow myself it can't be sent!). It does take discipline to blog everyday, and having others to help with the task is a great plus. I love my team at Girl Who Reads

This lesson might be more useful to me if I didn't know you can hide kale in smoothies with bananas and strawberries and be none the wiser. =PPPPPP LOL

You can also blend kale up in a smoothie, so the taste is masked (lol).

Hahaha! Kale I eat not, I stick to my greens and legumes and the occasional fries or two! Discipline sure is tough, especially in blogging ;)

I really love kale. But I have to be a little careful with it b/c if it isn't cooked all the way through it gives me a stomach ache. Great analogy though :)

Love a bit of Kale..!
To continue the analogy, it's really nice cooked in a variety of ways! I love stripping the leaves off, tearing them up and putting them on a baking tray with salt and pepper! Hot oven = Kale crisps!
Good to keep mixing it up!

Kale seems to be the veggie of the year. I don't remember so many kale recipes or it being available just a year ago. I used to have to grow my own. Now it comes in neat plastic wraps. Progress?

I juiced my lunch today, which included KALE, apples, oranges, carrots and spinach. I sat down next to my husband eating his yummy smelling soup. Yes, his soup smelled better than my green juice but I said to him, "Mine doesn't smell as good, but it gives me lots of energy!" Yes, I probably didn't need to say that, but the immature jealous part of me just had to.

I buy Kale at least twice a month...and feed it to my lizard. Ew. No thank you. I will continue to leave the kale for Drazil. She likes it.

So true. It's late on the U.S. east coast and I almost didn't finish today's post. Fortunately with some Discipline and Determination (and the fact that I had part of it done) I finally published it. And I wrote tomorrow's post already so I can relax a bit.

I don't like kale though. I get plenty of other leafy greens so I feel fine about skipping the kale. You can have my serving at the salad bar. :D

My husband makes me eat kale. He hides disguised parsnips in my food. I do discipline very well by myself, but I am a digital sort and he is more analog so he doesn't see everything thing I do. But I am serious about Digital Legacy. http://womenslegacyproject.com/a-legacy-tools-3/
