#AtoZChallenge W is for WHY

WHY?

Why do we do this? Why do we take the A to Z Challenge (many of us year after year after year)? Why do we challenge ourselves? Why do we blog at all? Many articles on many platforms have pointed out that blogging is slowly becoming less popular than other, more dynamic social media platforms. Why blog at all? And why do it so intensively for an entire month in April?

I am not claiming to have universal answers. Every one has to answer these WHY's (along with When, for Whom, and What) for themselves. But is important to keep in mind our own reasons for blogging, so that outside opinions can't easily affect us.

Why do you blog? Who is it for? Who is your audience? What do you want to achieve with your writing?

Why did you join the challenge? What do you get out of the experience? And when next year rolls around, are you willing to do it again?

See, me personally, I like blogs. I enjoy blogging. I like that it is static, leaving information easily available later on. I like it that it is written, because writing is an important medium for me. And I especially like it that there is a World of other bloggers out there, sharing whatever they are most enthusiastic about.

What about you? :)

I love getting comments, I love it when people tell me they have read my blog. It feels good. But beyond all that it is simply expressing myself through words that is a very enriching experience. I enjoy writing and this whole process is rewarding and satisfying. It is for me by me to begin with.
Then come the rest!

For me blogging is an informal channel to give expression to my thoughts, feelings, perceptions, ideas, etc. Sometimes, it's also a learning experience, because while writing a post, I research.

Blogging also opens the window to other bloggers whose posts are informative and educative. Their responses are always encouraging. That obviously makes me feel good.

For me it's about giving the blog some consistent care & attention but also about stretching myself and putting a bit of effort in to it all. Plus I enjoy seeing where other people take the challenge.

Why indeed, Csenge! I enjoy blogging. I'm a quiet person, who finds writing easier than talking. Blogging is a way of setting out my ideas without being interrupted or diverted by questions from noisier people.

I like to blog because there is sufficient space to develop an idea properly - tweets and soundbites be damned!. Because I have been doing the A2Z Challenge for three years, I imagine my audience to be the collective of all the participants - some I know already but I meet new people every year and of course, I enjoy the comments. I put a lot of my favourite comments from this year into yesterday's post. today it's about Water...

Howdy all,
Mostly I love being connected with others I've met through blogging. Here are my other answers to your questions, Csenge. Thanks for asking.
Why do you blog? Because it brings me joy.
Who is it for? Mostly myself, but I think others enjoy some of my posts.
Who is your audience? No clue.
What do you want to achieve with your writing? Not sure, I consider it my legacy. Something to remember me by when I die. People will say Barbie always wanted to be a writer… I wrote.
Why did you join the challenge? It’s my favorite time of the year. I love the challenge. It motivates me to write.
What do you get out of the experience? Pure enjoyment.
And when next year rolls around, are you willing to do it again? Absolutely!

My offering for this fine Humpday is What?
Cheers,
Barbie

Your reasons resonate with me! I don't know much at all about my parent's early lives or their parents either. I hope that someday my kids and grandkids might actually read what I wrote. I've also enjoyed making new "friends" all across the U.S. and in other countries. https://lisa-musingsofamiddle-agedmom.blogspot.com/2022/04/w-is-for-what-would-i-tell-her.html

For me, it has been a chance to write about the things I want, when I want, and how I want. IT has also been a great way to find like-minded folks and yes potential customers.

But mostly I just enjoy writing.

What a fun post for W.

I started blogging to bring more exposure to my own writing and to feature authors I enjoy. My audience is readers and other writers. I like learning and sharing information, which is what I hope to achieve.

I joined this year's challenge because I missed not participating. I've gotten to meet some new bloggers and look forward to checking out more as the year goes on. I plan to participate next year if my schedule allows it.

Every year the #1 reason has always been to connect with awesome bloggers.
Over the years I have used blogging and the A to Z challenge to help "show off" a writer who has a book being published or a writer who needs feedback on their writing. That was my goal for this year. I have highlighted my friend Steven Slack before and this time so others might look for his book "Lifeblood of the Dragon." We are hoping to get this to publication before he passes away.

I blog for the enjoyment, blog is for myself and if anybody wants to view my photos. (I mostly post my photography) My audience is several bloggers that we all join in on certain photo bloghops. Achieving getting my blog post is a big factor being disabled and waiting shoulder replacement. This is my 4th year consecutively to do the challenge total of 5 yrs. first year was the first year you did the challenge. My experience makes me keep motivation to get it finished most definetly will do next years challenge

I enjoy blogging and letting my feelings come to life so to say. The challenge I do strictly for enjoyment but also makes me try even harder to finish it
