Post A-to-Z Road Trip Check-in (Rest Stop)

Hello out there in Blog-Land!  Hopefully, everyone has recovered in full from the A-to-Z Challenge and is busy enjoying their summer (or winter, for those of you in the southern hemisphere).

We're well aware that summer is a busy time, so the Post A-to-Z Road Trip is meant to be nice and laid back.  We're a couple weeks in, though, so how about a quick check-in to see if anyone's making any progress?  Even if you've visited one blog, that's progress!  Everyone's got to stop at a rest stop on a road trip, so this is rest stop number one.  Time to kick the tires, check the oil and clean those bugs off the windshield.

I'm not going to lie.  I'm still trying to catch up with the comments on my blog.  School's out, my kids are home, and we are keeping busy, which is wonderful.  Also, I started a new novel!  Yay!  On top of that, Tina and I are both participating in BuNoWriMo (thus starting a new novel!)  So I am, admittedly, busy, and I know I'm not the only one.  I have gotten through a couple blogs when I've had a little bit of time here or there, and I'm still delighted with new blogs I'm finding.  However, it's a slow process.

So...check in!  Let us know if you've been road tripping.  Have you discovered any blogs you'd like to share?  Feel free to do so in the comments.  Also, we'd love to hear how June is treating you.  Anything interesting or fun to report?  Any big plans?

Now pass me another pina colada and the map; I need to figure out where I'm heading to next.

Sounds good! I'll be checking out the Road Trip a bit since I'm not planning on doing a lot of other bloghops this summer. Thanks for hosting and bon courage on the new novel!

As we here in the UK have had much rain in June I have not been out much, Today however is a lovely day and have spent it tidying the garden,

Have a good day.

I appreciate Shannon signing my name...but that magic was all hers. I'll try to get in on the action next month, S, my Warrior Buddy. Been writing my first book with the BuNoWriMo crowd and been, shall we say, a bit busy. So I'll put my contribution, in brief, right here.

As to me, I've been sporadic. I'd say I'm meeting five to six new A-Z ers a day, but not in the way I thought. I've been doing that go to a blog, read, comment, see interesting comment, click on that person's link, so go there, read, oh wow, they were also A-Z (don't common graphics make it oh so nice to identify our participants!) One more shout-out to Jeremy, the Retro-Zombie Wizard of graphics!

Btw, did you know that he published a book? Available on Amazon. It's a paperback, very affordable, but it's ART and Words, so a Kindle or other device is not appropriate). Wow, I digressed, how unusual for me...anyway, click on him in the sidebar and you'll find it. It's tagged as a coloring book for your mind ...and I love it.

So as I was saying, I find another friend, read comment, and pretty soon I've got six new tabs open and I'm off to my next item on my list. I highly suggest just setting aside 15-20 minutes each day for the trip, I think everyone can afford that. After all, not everyone road trips like I do in real life, with a real car. 18 hours a day and your stop better include food, gas, empty your own tank and back in the car before the gas has been paid for. The Engineer is a bit of a fanatic about "making good time". As if us pulling over out of exhaustion at the end of the day had some deadline...hotels are glad to just chard your card if you don't get there.

So I've more been "taking a morning stroll" with the trip and that's working for now. However, come July when I have to let my book sit (Stephen King says so. Write it. LEAVE IT ALONE FOR 6 MONTHS. DON'T LOOK). ("On Writing" is a fantastic resource about the writing process. I figure someone as commercially successful as he is probably has a few pieces of good advice, even though I'm not into his genre and have never read any of his books. I have seen The Stand mini-series, and parts of The Shining, but that's it.)

Ok, clearly this girl needs a morning stroll to clear her mind. I'll see YOU at the next rest-stop.

I have been able to visit ten. Haven't forgotten my temp job picked up a little so have had to work a few weekends, which normally were my catch up days.

I've also been still trying to catch up with comments that were left on my blog. What an amazing job that has been. Along the way I've continued to discover blogs that I had missed. Haven't even had to hit the list yet.

I've been bad and haven't gotten a chance to look at the list at all. My brain's too cluttered with important matters and the poor A to Z summer road challenge gets left in the dust.

I considered taking the A to Z Road Trip but after my experience regarding comments during the A to Z Challenge (as mentioned in my Reflections post), I decided to focus my efforts on current readers, blogging friends and those who I met in April. When I get some free time or find myself struggling from boredom or sleepless nights, however, I may take a quick drive down the A to Z Road for new discoveries in the blogging land.

If I wasn't working on my next book I'd be road-tripping with you guys. (As long as no car is involved, I can handle a road trip.) Admire those of you still making your way through the list!

Haven't been road tripping but plan to start very soon. Does it matter that I can't drive? :P

Hello.
I've started my road trip. Visited about 100 blogs already, BUT I'm finding it hard going because I would say 98% of them STILL have word verification turned on. Drives me nuts!!! There were a couple of blogs that wouldn't allow me access and another couple that had the adult warning flash up. I tend to leave those alone because I don't want any surprises.

The mercury is rising in my little nook of the woods. Heat index expected to top 100 degrees+ over the next few days. Thank goodness we have AC at work & home! It's nice to check in with everyone. If you haven't seen me whiz by yet, I'm on my way...got a lot of stops to make! LOL

Enjoy the rest of the week everyone!

I'm feverishing editing and revising my novel--due out this summer. So I'm "staying home" and not road tripping this time around. Sounds like fun, though.

Been to a couple of blogs on the road trip and made some new friends. Going to be a busy July for me as my son comes to visit us here in Norway from Denver--- and my sister in laws from both Canada and Australia come for a visit. Guess you could say my house has turned into an international Road stop :)

I haven't checked one single new blog since the A-Z ended. Oh my! That's terrible. But I do still intend to get on it ;)

I'm involved in another writer's challenge this week, and we have been on vacation, so my progress is slow. Hopefully next week!

This Road Trip has been slow to happen for me. First I got a flat tire, then I ran out of gas, then the alternator thingy broke. Still I'm trying to make it.

Working a lot on getting a book out by August, so that take a lot of time. Will try to make it around to more A to Zers soon.

I cannot tell a lie. I signed up for the roadtrip, started off strong, but got derailed by life. Planning to get on the road again today.
