#AtoZchallenge Good Vibes

The team decided our theme for this month's posts here would be a take "2020 visions of blogging." This set of weekday posts focuses on:
Blogging in the Present

#AtoZChallenge 2020 Blogging from A to Z Challenge letter G

Good Vibes

As we think about blogging in the present, I feel one big issue we face is negativity. Let's put on our "2020 vision" glasses and talk about how we can get more good vibes.🤓😎

How can we abstain from the negative sides of blogging? What do you do if you encounter posts or comments that are mean-spirited, angry, greedy, self-centered, or unforgiving toward a situation that probably has more than one side? We want to protect the precious freedom of speech and expression that blogging offers our world. Yet it's the negative aspects that so often drives people away. Many bloggers have told me they shut-down their site because there were "too many negative comments."

The old adage is "sticks and stones may break my bones, but words will never break me."
🤔 Actually, words have an enormous and lasting impact. Thanks to the Internet, that's truer now than in any era before. Blogging and commenting have the potential to cause glee... or to take it away.

Get glittery! Give gratitude! Get in our comment box with some good vibes. 😁

Words do have a powerful impact on us. I think it's because blogging is such a personal thing for many. I try to look past the negative comments, thinking perhaps someone was having a bad day, but when it's a continual thing, it can get rough.

I would love to send good vibes, but my "G" is quite the opposite :(

On the other hand, "Good Vibes" is like "GV" and my post is all about "Grixis Vis", which is also "GV".

And that's why I don't feed Trolls :-) Staying away from those who are negative and just want to fight all the time is one way to enjoy being online.

Good-morning!

Words do have an impact on a person but when unkind words are hurdled at us, it really is up to the individual to either accept or ignore what's said. That's easier said than done but it's easier than you think if you believe in yourself.

Fortunately I have not dealt with many ill spirited individuals on the world wide web. Those who share their opposite opinions with me, I find if it hurts my feelings or rubs me the wrong way, I question first my state of mind by asking am I being overly sensitive or is this person trying to get under my skin? That's when I leave I decide to wait until later to respond to the comment. Often I find when I come to back to reread the comment that my mood is improved and the person wasn't trying to be rude, disrespectful, or offensive. Sometimes I discover that my own message didn't come across quite well when I posted it, so clarifying my intent in comments is often helpful to those with a differing or negative response. True ugly pants who visit...wait a minute, I don't think I've ever had a real nasty person to leave negative feedback on my site. *knock on wood* I guess it's only a matter of time before some loose canon strays onto my blog wanting to rant his/her two cents worth to try to rattle my cage but you know what if so then I'll do like I always do - read, reread, and reply with kindness. My blog space is mine. Who I am makes me happy. I do not anyone build me up. Now, if and there are many people in Blogosphere who do makes me happy and encourages me in my ventures then 'HOORAY!' That's wonderful and I love it! These are the people I want to have in my circle and it's these people I count as friends. A friend sticks with through everything and still loves you despite the differences. If you get negative vibes online or off, then do you really want that in your life? Sometimes it's hard to get away from it in real life but the virtual world you don't have to accept it, you can ignore or block those individuals from your happy world. :) I've never done that mainly because it has really gotten to that and even if it did I don't think I would simply because that sort of thing comes from someone who I don't know. I continue on my good vibes path enjoying each day as the day before.

I always used to think that sticks and stones will break my bones but bad comments will never hurt me. It's not so true with the virtual world we live in. I've blogged and stopped blogging and blogged some more. I've deleted posts and then wished that I hadn't. We write, take criticism and we learn as we go. It's those who post the negative comments that have to live with that. We have to shake them off if we can and move forward. Great post....thank you.
