No "E"? No Problem!

Here's a challenge for you: try writing an entire blog post without using the letter "E." Theoretically, it shouldn't be that difficult, because E is only found in 11% of all English words. The people who figured that out looked at the Oxford English Dictionary to get that.

Of course, how many words in the OED do you use on a given basis? My guess is not a large percentage, and I'll bet that most of those words contain an E. Here's an easier challenge: write a sentence only with words that don't contain an E.

Winston Churchill once said "Short words are better than long words, and short words that are old words are the best of all." Limiting yourself only to words that don't contain an E gives you the opportunity to explore some old, short words that you might have forgotten. Give it a try!

I would love to do this challenge but time is closing in what with writing posts, new chapters for the book, commenting and replying to comments, working at my job and pacifying my partner for spending so much time at the computer.

Howdy, today's challenge sounds a bit....challenging. I think I might be up for it. I will have to see what I can come up with. In the meantime you can certainly check out how I'm Examining Faults and I'll be back tomorrow to see what we can do about them. I'll also be trying to scavenger hunt out some of the words on the list. How are you guys doing at that?
Cheers,

No "E"? Oh my, that sounds particularly difficult today, hehehe

I'm not sure I'd be able to get away with it, but in the meantime, I'll leave you with Embercleave, a mighty sword.

I am very surprised to read that about E. Whenever I do a cryptogram, the second thing I look for is a repeating three letter word to be "the" and if the E replacement is used a lot, I use E. It's usually correct. The first thing is a single letter. A or I. If there are lots of it, it's more likely to be A than I.

Writing an entire blog post without using better Eis impossible. this seems to be the most useful vowel. But will try writing a paragraph for sure.
